Mantracking

Mantracking is a skill that all searchers should learn.  It makes them much more clue aware during searches.  Tracking is simply finding signs of human passage, such as foot tracks that can be seen in the photo here, or candy wrappers, or even cigarette butts.  A turned rock, a leaf crushed underfoot are all things mantrackers learn to see.
